Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. The pump features a premium efficiency variable frequency drive that provides flexibility in terms of motor speed and duration settings. Thanks to this design, the pump is Energy Star certified and can reduce energy costs by up to 80% compared to traditional single-speed pool pumps, making it eligible for utility rebates in many regions.
The default schedule runs Speed 1 at 2850 RPM for 2 hours, Speed 2 at 1730 RPM for 10 hours, Speed 3 at 2300 RPM for 2 hours, and Speed 4 at 1150 RPM for 8 hours. All four speeds are fully adjustable to match your pool's specific needs.
The pump should be installed as close to the pool or spa as possible, using short, direct suction and return piping to reduce friction loss and improve efficiency. It must be installed a minimum of 5 ft. (1.5 m) from the inside wall of the pool. The pump uses standard 2-inch plumbing connections, making it compatible with most existing pool setups.
Yes. The pump is self-priming for quick, easy start-up and features a high-efficiency permanent magnet motor. Its variable speed control and compatible design make it suitable for use with saltwater chlorinators, pool heaters, automatic cleaners, and water features such as waterfalls, fitting virtually any inground pool setup.
The pump is built for long-term reliability thanks to its permanent magnet, totally enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) motor, which protects internal components from moisture and dirt year round. To maximize lifespan, the manual recommends shading the motor from direct sunlight, protecting it from splashing water and extreme weather, and cleaning the strainer basket at least once a week.
